Tucson's venue scene is its own thing, not a smaller version of Phoenix. Desert resorts in the foothills, historic downtown spaces and mountain backdrops give U of A chapters a look you cannot get anywhere else in the state, and the drive up to Scottsdale opens the rest of it.

Tucson runs on the same heat calendar as the rest of southern Arizona, so the good outdoor months are contested. Chapters that book in autumn for a spring formal get the foothill venues; chapters that wait until January mostly do not.
